Modern Slavery Statement

Man and Van North Sheen Modern Slavery Statement

Man and Van North Sheen is committed to conducting all aspects of its operations in an ethical, honest and responsible manner. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out our approach to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our own activities and throughout our supply chains. It applies to all employees, workers, agency staff, contractors and suppliers engaged by Man and Van North Sheen.

Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy

Modern slavery, which includes slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking, is a serious violation of fundamental human rights. Man and Van North Sheen adopts a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. We are committed to acting with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships and to putting in place effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery does not take place within our own operations or any of our supply chains.

All staff, regardless of role or seniority, are required to support this commitment. Any action or omission that facilitates, condones or ignores indicators of modern slavery will be treated as a serious disciplinary matter and may result in termination of employment or contract.

Our Business and Supply Chains

Man and Van North Sheen provides man and van, removals and associated transport services. Our activities rely on a range of suppliers, including vehicle providers, fuel and equipment suppliers, uniform and consumables suppliers, and occasional subcontracted transport and labour services.

We recognise that certain areas of the logistics and labour supply sectors may present higher risks of exploitation. We therefore take particular care when engaging third parties who provide labour, transport or other services on our behalf and we expect all suppliers to operate with the same commitment to ethical conduct and respect for human rights.

Supplier Standards and Audits

Man and Van North Sheen requires that all suppliers, contractors and business partners comply with applicable labour, employment and human rights laws. We expect them to prohibit forced labour, child labour, human trafficking, debt bondage and all forms of exploitation in their operations.

We reserve the right to conduct supplier due diligence and audits that may include requesting information on employment practices, reviewing relevant documents, and, where appropriate, conducting site visits. Suppliers are required to cooperate fully with any such checks. Where concerns are identified, we will work with the supplier to agree an improvement plan with clear timescales. If concerns are not adequately addressed, we may suspend or terminate the business relationship.

Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels

Everyone working for or with Man and Van North Sheen is encouraged to report any suspicion or evidence of modern slavery or human trafficking, whether in our own operations or in our supply chains. Reports may be made to a line manager, supervisor or a senior manager. Concerns can be raised in person or in writing.

We will review all reports promptly, treat them seriously and handle them as sensitively as possible. We are committed to protecting anyone who raises concerns in good faith from retaliation, victimisation or detrimental treatment. Where appropriate, we will work with external agencies and authorities to investigate and address any substantiated concerns.

Training and Awareness

Man and Van North Sheen will provide relevant staff with guidance and information on identifying potential indicators of modern slavery and on the correct procedure for raising concerns. We aim to build awareness of the risks of exploitation in the transport and logistics sector and to reinforce our zero-tolerance culture throughout the organisation.

Monitoring, Accountability and Annual Review

Responsibility for implementing and monitoring this Modern Slavery Statement rests with the senior management of Man and Van North Sheen. We will regularly review the effectiveness of our controls, supplier requirements and reporting mechanisms, taking into account any incidents, supplier feedback, legal developments and sector best practice.

This Statement will be reviewed, updated and reapproved on an annual basis, or more frequently where necessary. Any revisions will reflect our ongoing commitment to improve our processes, reduce risk and strengthen our response to modern slavery and human trafficking. By maintaining this continuous review, Man and Van North Sheen aims to ensure that our business is conducted in a manner that respects the dignity, safety and rights of all people.
